Impact of Climate Change in the Ocean

As we all know climate change has been one of the most overwhelming problems for our planet. It has caused severe damages and challenges. There are a lot of ways it has affected our ecosystem and has been a threat to our future. Some of the main effects of climate change have been:

Warming Waters: Global temperatures are rising which causes oceans temperature to rise as well. This has a lot of serious effects. It is a threat to marine life, as many species are adapted to a certain temperature. Warming waters have also disrupted ecosystems, the distribution of species and have lead to coral bleaching.

Sea Level Rise: The melting glaciers have lead to the sea level rising which can lead to coastal erosion and flooding.

Ocean Acidification: Oceans absorb about a quarter of the carbon dioxide emissions from human activity, which has lead to the acidification of ocean water. Marine life such as corals seems threatened by this. This affects metabolism, mortality, and reproductive capacity.

Weather events: Risings sea temperatures fuel more intense hurricanes, typhoons, and other natural disasters.

All of these are caused by climate change, that's why it is crucial for us to take care of our planet and start taking the effects of these events seriously.
