 There are many species in the ocean, some that we know of and some that are yet to be discovered. I have decided to talk about Seals, because I find them interesting and unique. Their scientific name is Pinnipedia, but they are colloquially known as Seals. They have an  average lifespan of up to thirty years. They are about three to twenty feet long, and weight from 100 pounds to 4.4 tons. They can be found on every continent of the Earth, though most species adapt better in cold-water environments. They have thick layers of fat, known as blubber, that keep them warm in addition to their dense fur. Having knowledge about the oceans in our plante is crucial given that the oceans make up more than 70% of the Earth's surface and  play an incredibly important role in climate change, providing resources and the diverse ecosystem for our planet. Oceanography is the study of all aspects of the ocean. There are four major subdisciplines:  Biological  Oceanography: The study of how species adapt to environmental changes. It also studies how the subdisciplines of oceanography work altogether or separately to influence the abundance of marine plants and animals, as well as how marine organisms behave and develop in relation to their environment.  Physical Oceanography: The study of the relationship between the ocean's physical properties, atmosphere, seafloor and coast. Impact of Climate Change in the Ocean

As we all know climate change has been one of the most overwhelming problems for our planet. It has caused severe damages and challenges. There are a lot of ways it has affected our ecosystem and has been a threat to our future. Some of the main effects of climate change have been: Warming Waters: Global temperatures are rising which causes oceans temperature to rise as well. This has a lot of serious effects. It is a threat to marine life, as many species are adapted to a certain temperature. Warming waters have also disrupted ecosystems, the distribution of species and have lead to coral bleaching.  Sea Level Rise: The melting glaciers have lead to the sea level rising which can lead to coastal erosion and flooding.  Ocean Acidification: Oceans absorb about a quarter of the carbon dioxide emissions from human activity, which has lead to the acidification of ocean water.
